Butterflies

Lauren has always liked butterflies so Vicki ordered some and we can let them grow. They come as catepillars and grow into their cocoons, then hatch into butterflies. They grow very fast - the first picture is when they arrived. The second picture is today. The cocoons are hanging in the net for when they turn into butterflies. The net is hanging over Lauren's bed with the other butterflies that are always there. The third picture is from yesterday just before we moved them to the net. And the bottom picture is from last week when Lauren and her friend Landry had their face's painted with you guessed it - butterflies.

Father's Day and baby birds

We have a bird's nest in our yard and all three eggs hatched a few days ago. Daddy and I love to watch them - we go out every day and take a picture.

Here are some pictures of the baby birds and from when we gave daddy his Father's Day present. Yesterday we went to see Grandpa and we gave him his Father's Day presents. We chased rabbits, tried to feed them carrots, and looked at Grandpa's new shed.

(I have no idea why the pictures posted out of order).

Lauren's 4th Birthday

Lauren turned 4 on May 22nd. She got a lot of great cards and gifts from family and friends. She is really into dresses and wears them every day. She also got some Rapunzel hair and a jeep (which Blake loves). She had a family party at Flipz with all her cousins and lots of aunts, uncles, and grandparents.

Family Trip to Portland May 2011

Early in May we took a family trip to see Nana and Papa in Portland. It was Blake's first time on an airplane and he did great. Mom and dad went to the coast for two days so we had all kinds of fun with Nana and Papa.

Papa helped me put the food out for the squirrels.

Nana and Papa's house has a lot of squirrels running around it. I liked to watch them when I was a kid - now Blake gets excited when he see's one.

Mommy and daddy's hotel on the coast. Their room was at the top with the balcony.

I played Wii bowling and got a lot of strikes!

The view from Mommy and Daddy's balcony at the coast.

Easter

We had a big Easter weekend. Daddy, Grandpa Deiter and I took a trip to KS Friday/Sat to pick up a mower from Great Grandpa so Mommy and Blake were on their own for a couple days. They had fun playing together but Blake really missed ME the most. He gave me lots of kisses and hugs when he saw me Easter morning.
Blake enjoying playing in a box

and falling out of the box

Decorating eggs is so much fun, but also hard work, can you see how hard I'm concentrating on getting this egg just right?

Here we are loading up the mower from Great Grandpa

Finally Easter morning. We started our egg hunt outside. The Easter bunny had fun hiding eggs outside and inside. Blake was really good at finding eggs, but not as good as I was.

We love our new flashlights the Easter Bunny brought for us
and all the presents from Nana and Papa

Blake like playing with the "hair" and pulling it all across the room

Blake got a hold of my chocolate bunny, he didn't want to give it back to me, he really liked it.

We went to Grandpa and Abuela's house to visit with them for Easter, Abuela made a wonderful lunch for us and the Easter Bunny left us some baskets and hid eggs at their house as well.

Prince Charming

Here is a cute story Aunt Heather emailed me about Lauren the other day (Julianna just became a big sister so this is where all this baby talk is coming from)....

Just thought I'd tell you what she told Julianna's dad today. She said, "I'm going to have 5 babies when I get big. I'm only going to have one boy and four girls. The boy will be called Prince Charming!" It was cute and hey, she can count to five! =)

Great Grandma and Grandpa's 65th Anniversary Trip

We took our first family vacation for the summer. We went to Holyrood - Kansas that is. We stopped in Kansas City and swam at night and the next morning. Then we went to Nebraska - Furniture Mart. After that we picked up Nana and Papa at the airport and then went to Holyrood for great-Grandma and great-Grandpa's 65th wedding anniversary. We also played outside and ate on the porch. We all had a lot of fun!
