Blake's 18m Appt

Blake is growing FAST! He has now surpassed Lauren's length at the same age. Before now they were neck and neck. His weight is only 3 lbs more than she was at the same age, that surprises me. Here are his stats as of today.
34" tall - 91%
28 lb 3 oz - 87%
his head is still in the 90%

More Summertime Fun

Here are some more pictures of our summertime fun. We've played in the back yard; Lauren and her friend Landry have started ballet/dance classes; and we had a visit from our relatives Steve and Rebecca Lance on their motorcycle / field trip to South Dakota and back.

Talking

Blake is saying more words every day. Last Saturday he said "belly button" very clearly, but has since refused to say it again and will only give a big grin if you ask him to.
We were dog sitting last week and Nina is the name of one of the dogs. Blake enjoyed saying Nina the entire time she was visiting us. This morning he said "hi baby" several times in the car and at Aunt Heather's house today one of the dogs escaped and he ran to the door and yelled "dog Willow" (the dogs name is Willow) over and over again. It's fun to see what new words he will say every day.

Summertime Fun

Here's an update on my summer. I had a great time at my good friend Landry's birthday party at Flipz. I made her a homemade card too!

Blake and I like to put on mommy's shoes and wear them around. Blake won't like this picture in a few years.

Our baby birds grew up and are now gone. We also let the butterflies go after they were with us for a few days.

At my great-Grandma Anderson's house we swam in a pool.

My dad and great-Grandpa Anderson built this picnic table in Hays, KS in the 1970's. It's old (but daddy says he's not old).

I caught fireflies at Grandma Anderson's house for the first time ever. It was fun! I kept them next to where I slept at night.

Great-Grandpa Anderson

Nels Anderson - 1923 - 2011
My great-granddad Anderson passed away unexpectedly on July 1. He was my papa Anderson's dad. My dad says great-granddad Anderson was a great example of "The Greatest Generation". He served in the pacific in World War II and never spoke about his experiences until after he went on his Honor Flight a couple of years ago. I always enjoyed my trips there to see him and great-grandma in Holyrood, KS. My last trip there was in April when my Grandpa Deiter and my dad went to get a lawn mower that great-granddad gave to my dad. That was just two weeks after we were in Holyrood for their 65th wedding anniversary in April.
